Jonathan Heine, Founder and CEO of You Are Loved Foods, Demystifies the Perils of GMO: Part 2

Previously, we looked at history to see how food modifications slowly triggered immune responses that accumulate over time. And we were left with the following question: how can GMO contribute to this? We suggest that as the immune system is activated repeatedly, it creates a cumulative effect. Immune Response When the immune system is activated locally, say with a bee sting on a person allergic to bees, the first thing that happens is swelling at the site of the sting. Swelling is inflammation. Then immune responses like head and muscle aches, sneezing, itching, pain, exhaustion, even paralysis take place. So let’s say it’s not local, as with a person allergic to cat dander. The headaches, sneezing and itching are all...

Jonathan Heine, Founder and CEO of You Are Loved Foods, Demystifies the Perils of GMO: Part 1

A lot of people talk about GMO being “bad” or “unhealthy.” But most people don’t understand why. A lot of people think it’s related to “Round Up”—the genetically engineered pesticide which is reported to be designed to work hand in glove with Monsanto GMO seeds, each activating the other, and each requiring the other to work properly. This alone might create significant problems for those eating GMO products. Just as Agent Orange impacted the vegetation it touched, so might the plants exposed to Round Up be impacted. It is possible that pesticides, especially genetics-based pesticides, might have significant genetic impacts on humans that eat foods derived from exposed vegetation. In addition, it is now in our air, water and soil....

Sugar Found in Processed Food “Could Trigger” Dementia

A new study is giving us another reason to kick processed foods to the curb. According to a recently conducted research, a sugar common in processed food could alter hundreds of brain genes, which could lead to a wide range of diseases including dementia. This specific sugar is fructose. The study has found that fructose, a sugar common in the Western diet, could actually damage genes in the brain. People usually consume fructose from foods sweetened by high-fructose corn syrup and from sweetened drinks, syrups, honey, and desserts. Fructose can also be found in baby food and in fruits. However, the fiber in fruits actually slows down the body’s absorption of the sugar; plus, fruits contain other healthy components that...
